As a young man, Dr. Tobias was an avid painter and sculptor, entering Tufts University as an art major before becoming fascinated with science and medicine.
Unlike many of his colleagues who “play the field” in plastic surgery, Dr. Tobias, whose background in art leads him to focus on detail, focuses on the nose. Dr. Tobias, in addition to being a renowned rhinoplasty surgeon, is a researcher whose diligent work has resulted in some astonishing scientific developments. Ever-fascinated with the nose, both in terms of appearance and function, he has spent years exploring ways to refine rhinoplasty, to make it simpler and less painful, and to ensure positive cosmetic results. During his studies, he was intent on creating usable cartilage for his surgical procedures.
Dr. Tobias, clearly a Renaissance man, has talents that go beyond medical research and surgical expertise. He is also a well-respected teacher who has disseminated his knowledge to hundreds of doctors. Through widely attended seminars and lectures, he has taught hundreds of doctors eager to learn not only his improved techniques, but the research behind them.
